Part I: Nov 22, 1:00 - 2:30 pm | Part II: Dec 1, 1:00 - 2:30 pm

This event has passed.

Overview

GARP is pleased to present its fourth annual Climate Risk Symposium. This complimentary, two-part virtual event will be focused on delivering practical insights into the risks and opportunities facing firms in the effort to achieve net zero carbon emissions.

Part I of the event will focus on the real-world, strategic challenges and complex risks facing companies as they navigate the transition towards a net zero future. For 90 minutes each participant takes on the role of a board member of a fictional company and time travels to 2030 to make real-time, strategic decisions for this company. The outcomes of your votes will be discussed by our panel of experts, who will provide insights into emerging dilemmas and risks facing companies as they navigate the transition to a low-carbon economy.

The event will continue with Part II on December 1, with a broader focus on the levers available to financial firms to help achieve real-world decarbonization. We’ll discuss how engagement can be a powerful tool for financial firms to encourage better ESG practices or sustainability outcomes in real economy firms. Finally, we’ll learn about the limits to such engagement and the secrets of meaningful stewardship practices to address systemic risk.
