This document helps candidates self-study for the Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR®) Exam. It summarizes chapters from the SCR Book and lists required online readings, the number of exam questions per chapter, and associated learning objectives. 

Successful candidates refer to this document regularly during exam preparation. Be sure to download the latest version to guide your studies.

2024 SCR EBOOK

The official eBook for the SCR Exam includes eight chapters with associated learning objectives, illustrative case studies, and end-of-chapter review questions on the following topics: 

  • Foundations of Climate Change: What is Climate Change?
  • Sustainability
  • Climate Change Risk
  • Sustainability and Climate Policy, Culture, and Governance
  • Green and Sustainable Finance: Markets and Instruments
  • Climate Risk Measurement and Management
  • Climate Models and Scenario Analysis
  • Net Zero

This book does not include the two newest SCR curriculum chapters testable on the Exam: "Climate and Nature Risk Assessment” and “Transition Planning and Carbon Reporting”. These can be accessed via GARP Learning only.

SCR eBooks are non-refundable and included free of charge with registration.

Available for registered candidates only, this streamlined digital learning platform allows candidates to view the full SCR curriculum including the chapters "Climate and Nature Risk Assessment” and “Transition Planning and Carbon Reporting”, monitor performance and determine strengths and weaknesses, and create personalized study plans. Candidates can also take a full-length SCR Practice Exam as well as utilize end-of-chapter questions. The platform can be accessed via the candidate portal on any device — mobile, tablet, or desktop computer. 

Exam Preparation Providers

SCR Exam candidates may wish to study with the assistance of an exam preparation provider (EPP). As a service, GARP provides SCR candidates with a list of EPPs on its website. Please note: GARP does not endorse, promote, review, or warrant the accuracy of the products or services offered by an EPP of SCR-related information, nor does it endorse any pass rates claimed by the EPP. Further, GARP is not responsible for any fees or costs paid by the user to an SCR EPP.

Curriculum Errata

If you believe you identified an error or discrepancy in the curriculum, please contact us. We pursue all errata submissions and post updated errata including corresponding corrections on this site. Revisit the errata summary regularly during your studies to assist with exam preparation. Errata submissions close one week before the Exam and reopen after each exam window.

Updates

GARP strives to maintain our program's best-in-class curriculum and associated study materials. In order to ensure relevance and accuracy, GARP reviews the curriculum every year. Revisions are made and new study materials are released December 1 for the following calendar year.
