The Climate Imperative: Opportunities for Risk Managers

Abstract

From wildfires to windstorms, climate change poses a significant threat to the global economy.

Companies, financial regulators, and governments are taking action to combat the disruptive nature of these events on businesses. To better understand how they’re addressing these challenges, in 2019, the Global Association of Risk Professionals conducted a study on Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR).

Based on the study, 85% of respondents in roughly 100 countries, indicated they will need additional SCR knowledge; more than 80% will focus more on SCR in the next two to five years.
