Shyam Nagarajan

SVP and Chief Risk Officer, HomeEquity Bank

Shyam Nagarajan is Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer at HomeEquity Bank, where he oversees the Bank's risk and compliance functions. He is responsible for supporting the Bank's strategic objectives through effective risk governance and the management of financial and non-financial risks.

Shyam brings more than 25 years of experience in financial services, with deep expertise in risk management, compliance, assurance, advisory services, and enterprise transformation. Prior to joining HomeEquity Bank, he served as Senior Vice President, Enterprise Risk and Compliance Transformation at Scotiabank. In this capacity he led several global audit portfolios across multiple business functions. 

Shyam holds a Master of Mathematical Finance from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder and a Financial Risk Manager (FRM).

Xiaobo Wang is Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at North Horizon Holdings Inc., where he leads enterprise strategy, governance, and the philanthropic initiatives through the North Horizon Foundation. 

A seasoned financial executive, Xiaobo previously served as Chief Risk Officer at both North Horizon and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Canada), and earlier spent more than a decade with Scotiabank in risk, audit, and treasury leadership roles. 

He co-directs the Global Association of Risk Professionals’ Toronto Chapter and serves on several non-profit boards, including the Canadian Chinese Finance Association and Kensington Health Centre. Xiaobo holds a Ph.D. from Boston University and an MBA from Schulich, and is a CFA charter holder.
