Montreal: The ISSB’s amendments to its greenhouse gas emissions disclosure standard (S2) underscore the financial sector’s continued commitment to climate transparency, even as regulatory enforcement appears to be losing momentum in some jurisdictions.

At the same time, geopolitical tensions, security concerns, and changing economic priorities are reshaping the transition to a greener economy. In this environment, risk practitioners must look beyond compliance alone and focus on value creation, strategic resilience, and the opportunities that stronger risk intelligence can uncover.

Join the GARP Montréal Chapter for a discussion with senior risk professionals who will share frontline perspectives and institutional strategies. The panel will explore questions such as:

  • What challenges have financial institutions faced since introducing climate risk disclosures, and which issues do the amendments address—or leave unresolved?
  • How are OSFI- and AMF-regulated institutions adapting their disclosure and GHG reporting frameworks ahead of the 2027 effective date?
  • How might the regulatory approach to climate risk disclosure evolve, and what should practitioners prepare for?
  • How will climate risk management and disclosure practices change in response to geopolitical tensions, security uncertainty, and the transition to a greener economy?
