Join the GARP Hong Kong Chapter for an engaging and forward-looking panel discussion on climate risk. This event will provide an opportunity for open dialogue and expert insights into how the financial sector has addressed the challenges of climate change over the past decade, while also considering the path ahead.

The discussion will reflect on the significant developments since Mark Carney, former Governor of the Bank of England, delivered his landmark speech on climate change and financial stability on 29 September 2015. Our panel of subject matter experts will examine global responses across the financial system, including evolving regulatory frameworks, carbon accounting and valuation practices, and ongoing efforts to mitigate climate-related financial risks.

Drawing perspectives from across the banking, insurance, and asset management sectors, the panel will explore current risk management approaches and discuss potential future developments in climate finance and their implications for both the industry and its customers.

Specific topics to be addressed include:

  • The key milestones which have shaped the financial sector’s approach to climate risk over the past decade
  • Best practices to navigate the changing landscape and various regulatory frameworks
  • The impact of climate risk practices on the resilience of the financial system
  • Potential developments in sustainable finance, including the underlying risks and opportunities

Registration is required as seats are limited. Priority will be given to GARP Individual Members.
