The GARP Charlotte Chapter invites you to participate in a comprehensive discussion on the evolving field of artificial intelligence and its implications for risk management. The session will address effective strategies for managing AI-related risks, provide viewpoints on integrating AI into established risk frameworks, and offer guidance on responsible innovation that safeguards stakeholder interests. A distinguished panel of experts will examine both the opportunities and challenges associated with AI adoption in financial services, including:

While the Global Technology Senior Leadership Team is accountable for developing long-term technology roadmaps to enable the business strategies of each of the eight lines of business, Nathan Call is responsible for driving the process and facilitating strategic discussion and decision making by Global Technology Senior Leadership Team in the development and execution of those roadmaps.

In this role, he leads a team to understand key industry, market, technology and competitive trends and activities, as well as line-of-business strategies, and to develop materials to enable strategic discussion on Global Technology with the senior leaders of the firm – including the Management Team and Board of Directors. He leads the initiative planning effort for the Global Technology-specific initiative portfolio, including work on planning the portfolio to ensure critical capabilities are “never down” for clients. In addition, he is responsible for the reporting on the health of the technology initiative portfolio for the enterprise.

Prior to his current role, he led Consumer Marketing strategic planning covering credit card, mortgage, investments, deposits, and small business products across all marketing channels – including digital demand generation, direct response, associate channels – as well as the associated performance and diagnostic reporting to monitor the success of the planned strategies and investment levels.

Nathan first joined Bank of America in 2010 as a part of the Strategy Planning & Market Intelligence team in the Home Loans organization, where he focused on special mortgage and housing industry research on competitive areas with limited structured data, before the Home Loans business was integrated into the Consumer Bank. Subsequently, he joined the Strategic Competitive Intelligence team where he was responsible for developing competitive insights to help inform the overall Consumer Bank strategy.

Prior to joining the bank, Nathan was a Manager at Accenture, a strategy consulting firm, where he focused on growth strategy and innovation projects for clients across many different industries ranging from telecommunications to healthcare to consumer packaged goods.

Nathan also spent 5 years at IBM Global Services in their strategic outsourcing business as a project manager responsible for managing process and reporting transition projects.

Nathan holds an MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Science in Management with an emphasis in Information Systems from Brigham Young University.

Rajneesh Vijh is responsible for developing strategic alliances, partnerships, and projects to further facilitate the strategy for the Global Technology organization. In this role, Rajneesh helps to create a vibrant technology ecosystem though external engagements with key stakeholders to support the discourse around public policies, technological advancements, and applied research that directly feeds into implementation of the overall strategy. His focus is on complex SME projects that are related to artificial intelligence, advanced verification methodologies/frameworks, and skills composition to conduct robust scenario analysis for LOBs. Taking into consideration global competitive dynamics, he further provides strategic support on legal and regulatory issues to help navigate the geo-political risks across regions in which the organization operates.

Rajneesh has been with Bank of America since 2019. He joined Global Business Services and worked in Strategic Initiatives driving council formation—Harvard Council for the Responsible Use of AI and the Indian Institute of Management Digital Transformation Council—convening global leaders from academia, private sector, and governments to address critical areas relevant to the Bank’s commitments on responsible growth. He also developed deep and meaningful partnerships with universities, think-tanks, and nonprofits; integrating work streams to deliver AI thought leadership, solutions, and best practices. His work extended to gaining buy-in from internal and external stakeholders, overseeing technical projects, and its delivery.

During his 20-year tenure, Rajneesh has attained rank of Professor of Practice at Georgetown University, recently completed Senior Fellowship at USC’s AI Institute, and holds affiliations or advisory board positions. Previously, he has held senior level position at the Society for Human Resource Management, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and Oxford Economics. Considered a technology economists, his work has been regularly published, and he has been invited to speak at conferences as well as industry events.

Rajneesh holds a PhD from Oxford University, MA from Harvard University, and a BA from Rutgers University graduating Phi Beta Kappa amongst other accolades.

James L. King is a seasoned risk and finance professional with two decades of experience spanning risk program management, risk analytics, and investment analytics. James has led key initiatives in asset management, commercial banking, investment banking, and risk management. He has built and led high-performing teams across risk, data, and investment functions and brings a strong record of engagement and collaboration. James holds an MBA from Washington University, and an MA in Economics from the University of Missouri. He is both a CFA charterholder and certified FRM. James is deeply committed to supporting and advancing the risk community in Charlotte.
