Join the GARP Luxembourg Chapter for an engaging and insightful event exploring the evolving landscape of energy efficiency in real estate. This is a unique opportunity to dive into the challenges and opportunities posed by the EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) and its impact on both the financial and real estate industries.

As buildings account for the largest share of energy consumption in Europe, the real estate sector plays a pivotal role in achieving the EU’s ambitious energy and climate goals. With the EPBD aiming to decarbonize the entire building stock by 2050, the ripple effects will be far-reaching, affecting society, financial markets, and investment strategies alike. Financial institutions are expected to be proactive by offering innovative financial products, grants, and subsidies to drive renovations, especially for vulnerable households and low-performing properties.

Key discussion points include:

  • Exploring new opportunities: How banks can tap into a growing market of loans and renovation products designed to accelerate energy efficiency upgrades.
  • Overcoming challenges: Addressing the need for high-quality data on energy efficiency, disparities in building types across Europe, and the increasing value premiums on energy-efficient properties.
  • Managing risks: Understanding the capital expenditure requirements and the risks of owning properties that fail to meet future energy standards, potentially becoming illegal to build, rent, or sell.

Don't miss this chance to gain insider knowledge and network with industry leaders who are shaping the future of energy-efficient real estate!

Registration is required as seats are limited. Priority will be given to GARP Individual Members.
