Overview

Registration for this meeting has closed.

According to OMSZ, the Hungarian Meteorological Service, in the summer of 2022 Hungary’s average temperature was the highest since 1901. The direct cost of the historical drought was several hundred billion forints and was a significant drag on the country’s GDP growth. How will risk management departments tackle the financial challenges related to climate change?

Join us to hear three presentations on different aspects of climate risk management from David Marczis, senior risk analyst at The Central Bank of Hungary, Madeleine Helms, climate change specialist at MSCI, and Balázs Bozsik, senior manager at PWC. Dávid will introduce the role of central banks in climate risk management and Madeleine will present practical ways of building investment portfolios aligned with the goals of the Paris Agreement. Finally Balázs will highlight the competitive advantage driven by climate risk management.

The presentations will be followed by a panel discussion and audience Q&A including Bálint Szaniszló, lead ESG expert at Erste Bank. Following the program, participants are invited for a networking reception at the Hungarian Money Museum, where they may also visit the museum’s exhibitions.
