In this webcast, co-hosted by the European Banking Institute, hear from leading experts at the intersection of nature and finance, as we dive into how financial institutions and their supervisors are tackling nature-related risk.
The degradation of nature poses a significant threat of causing price disruptions and financial instability. As our understanding of firms’ dependencies and impacts on nature grows, the scale of the related financial risks is becoming clearer.
In response to this, regulators and firms are increasing their focus on nature. Research into firm’s exposure to ecosystem services is underway and a common language is being developed for supervisors. We are also seeing the first generation of joint nature and climate scenarios being developed to better understand the interconnections between these risk areas.
As nature risk rises up the agenda, it is essential that risk managers stay up-to-speed with these important developments. That’s why this webcast will bring together a panel of nature experts from the European and Dutch national banks (ECB & DNB), Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS), and UBS to discuss:
Judson Berkey
Managing Director, Chief Sustainability Office, UBS
Marc Reinke
Head of the Sustainable Finance Office, DNB
Andrej Ceglar
Climate Scientist & Executive Board Advice Expert, ECB
Managing Director, Chief Sustainability Office, UBS

He completed a bachelor study in meteorology at the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, and holds a PhD in agro-meteorology from the Biotechnical Faculty, both University of Ljubljana.
Before joining the ECB, he worked as a scientific officer at the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission and assistant professor for climatology at the University of Ljubljana.
