Climate Risk and the Role of the Board

In partnership with Chapter Zero, GARP welcomes you to a virtual event for boards members discussing the implications of climate change across all sectors and how to ensure appropriate board oversight of the management of climate-related risks.

The event will start with a short presentation from Jo Paisley, Co-president of the GARP Risk Institute, and followed by a panel comprised of four excellent speakers:

• Zoe Knight - Group Head, HSBC Centre of Sustainable Finance; Managing Director, HSBC Holdings Plc
• Phil Fitz-Gerald - Director, Financial Reporting Lab
• Dylan Tanner - Executive Director and Co-Founder, Influence Map

The panel discussion will take you through the key drivers of physical and transition risks associated with climate change, as well as the evaluation of corporates responses to those risks. We will also hear an account of how practitioners are responding to these risks and opportunities, emerging best practice for reporting and disclosures, and importantly what this means for boards and their engagement with climate risks.
