Becoming an SCR Certificate holder requires passing a rigorous multiple-choice Exam. To enroll in the SCR program, register for an SCR Exam within the relevant exam window. To learn more about exam dates, visit the Exam Logistics page.
Once you have registered, you will receive access to the GARP portal where you can manage all your program information, track your progress, and schedule your Exam.
Early registration for the April 2025 SCR Exam opens on December 1.
Create a study plan using our official study materials, prepare with the SCR books and GARP Learning platform, and familiarize yourself with SCR deadlines. GARP recommends approximately 100-150 hours of preparation to be ready for the SCR Exam.
The SCR Exam is 90 multiple-choice questions and must be completed in four hours. Candidates who pass the Exam receive an electronic certificate of completion and a digital badge they can share on LinkedIn.
SCR Certificate holders can keep their learning journey going with the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program. While CPD is not mandatory, it is strongly encouraged. Certificate holders can tap into exclusive learning benefits with a GARP Individual Membership.
The SCR Exam is scored on a pass/fail basis. Candidates who don't pass their Exam can register at a reduced rate during the next two exam cycles.
Pass rates are subject to change based on the number of candidates. Since the start of the SCR, 9,138 candidates have sat for an Exam.
