This chapter meeting has passed.

Overview

Panel Session at the IOSCO World Investor Week.

In-person and virtual participation available.

Kazakhstan is in the process of finalizing a long-term strategy to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060. The plan will target unprecedented reductions in emissions through a series of focused interventions aimed at promoting the sustainable use of land and water, energy efficiency, electrification, and the large-scale use of eco-friendly and renewable energy sources. One of the key approaches to the implementation of the strategy is to incorporate proper pricing, management, and supervision of climate change-related risks in the financial sector.

The goal of this panel session is to provide insights into the current landscape of climate risk management including:

•What is climate risk and how does it impact the economy?

•Increasing regulatory and industry interest in climate risk management

•Climate risk management, risk governance framework and practice

•The role of climate risk managers in implementing strategies to achieve carbon neutrality

•Climate-related reporting practices
