The Risk Manager of the Year Award recognizes outstanding
contributions of an individual, or group of individuals, who have
advanced and influenced the financial risk profession. Each year,
award nominations are solicited from GARP members and reviewed by
the GARP Board of Trustees Nomination Committee.The prestigious and
eagerly anticipated award will be presented during the Thirteenth
Annual Risk Management Convention & Exhibition on February
28-29, 2012 in New York City.

Nominees should possess some or all of the following
attributes:
- Recognized by their peers as a
preeminent risk management professional
- Work experience in the risk management
field, either as a practitioner, academic and/or regulator
- Had their work published or shared
their expertise resulting in a positive impact on the risk
management field or contributed favorably toward the development of
the risk management profession
- Whose activities may have resulted in
the development of a risk management-related system that has
contributed positively towards a firm's financial condition and/or
stability
- Developed innovative risk management
techniques that can be demonstrated as having had a positive impact
on their own professional activities or on the activities of their
colleagues or peers
- Expertise in any one of the commonly
recognized risk management disciplines- credit, market,
operational, quantitative, or regulatory risk.
