7th Annual Asia Pacific Risk Convention
The Global Association of Risk Professionals will host Asia's
most anticipated gathering of senior risk professionals at its
7th Annual Asia Pacific Risk Convention, October 27 and 28,
2010 in Hong Kong.
Although extraordinary measures have been taken to revive the
global economy, uncertainties remain. Globally, financial
regulators continue to collaborate on principles for international
financial market regulation, and while the region saw an influx of
assets on the heels of swift adoption of stimulative monetary and
fiscal policies by Asian governments, some sectors are seeing asset
bubbles and overheated markets. In short, while the consequence of
corrective actions will be debated for some time, it is clear that
the global economy is still vulnerable to future crisis. Are Asian
institutions properly prepared to navigate the next wave of fiscal
turbulence?
Topics to be addressed include:
- Asia: the next crisis?
- Safely deflating China's property bubble
- Curtailing Asian inflation; currency control
- Sovereign risk: a real threat?
- Capital adequacy standards and Basel III
- CRO 2.0-attracting top talent to Asia
In addition to these major topics, two concurrent Master Classes
on Economic Capital for Financial Institutions and
New Topics in Quantitative Risk Management, held
on October 26, will enable in-depth exploration of these important
themes, and ensure that the Asia Pacific Risk Convention is your
must-attend risk management event.
